Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a few questions you might have about sessions with Captured Moments Photography:

Q:  Where should we have our session?

A:  We can have your photo session at any location that you wish.  Outdoor locations add interest and personality to your session.  You might have a location in mind that has special meaning to you or you might just be looking for a place with charm or beautiful scenery or even a more gritty feel.  From parks and playgrounds to a river or lake, a downtown setting, a cool barn or your own backyard, we’ll work together to find a location that matches perfectly with the type of session you’re looking for.  I have several locations I can suggest.  If you choose a location further than 15 miles from Waterford, an additional travel fee will apply.

Q:  Do you have a studio?

A:  Yes!  I have a studio in my home for those sessions that aren’t ideal for an outdoor setting, such as newborns and young children, winter sessions and others who simply prefer an indoor option.  I definitely prefer outdoor sessions for families and high school seniors as they provide more options for backdrops and movement, but sessions with 3 or less family members can be done in the studio if necessary.

Q:  Do you offer gift certificates?

A:  Absolutely!  Gift certificates for a portrait session make a wonderful gift for all types of occasions.  Consider giving a gift certificate for Mother’s Day, birthdays, baby showers, new baby gifts, anniversaries, retirements and more.  You can purchase a full session or simply a monetary amount that can be applied toward a session.  Gift certificates can also be mailed directly to your recipient.  Recipients have one year to use their gift certificate.  Every gift certificate recipient who has held a session with me has been so thankful to receive such a thoughtful gift!  Please contact me for details.

Q:  When will my photos be ready?

A:  After your session, I generally try to review the photos within a couple days and select the very best ones to edit.  Unless you prefer otherwise, I usually post a couple “sneak peek” images on my Facebook page within a day or two, which makes it easy for you to share them with family and friends.   The remainder of your photos will usually be edited and loaded into an online gallery within three weeks of your session (slightly longer during especially busy times). At that time, you will approve the photos and I will place the order for your personalized image box and the 4×6 images from your session. These generally take about 7-10 days to arrive. You will receive the image box and flash drive from your session at the time of payment. If you have a time-sensitive situation (such as high school yearbook photos due in a week or a last-minute session that you’d like to give as a gift), please contact me and we can discuss my availability and putting your session in a “rush mode” for an additional charge.

Q:  What should we wear to a session?

A:  Visit this page for details and suggestions on how to plan what to wear for your session and feel free to contact me to discuss your ideas further or to ask questions.
